The Speakers:

Tim Lawson – McCarthy Tétrault

I joined the Toronto Labour and Employment Group of McCarthy Tétrault as a Partner in January 2014.

I have more than two decades of experience advising on management-side labour and employment law, in particular, representing federally regulated employers. My practice focuses on strategic labour and employment advice, labour negotiations, labour and employment advocacy, corporate reorganization, construction labour, and human and privacy rights. I regularly represent employers before administrative tribunals such as labour relations boards, boards of arbitration, human rights tribunals, workers’ compensation boards and before Ontario and federal courts. I also provide strategic labour and employment advice to employers in many areas including corporate restructuring, management/union relations, collective bargaining, construction law and privacy rights.

I am recognized as a leading labour and employment practitioner by The Best Lawyers in Canada 2014.

In addition to speaking frequently at legal conferences and to employer organizations on labour and employment law topics, I also conducts in-house seminars for clients on such topics as privacy, arbitration advocacy, workplace harassment and performance management.
