Course Outline:

Gain a clear understanding of the new Employment Rights Bill - essential for all organisations with operations in the UK. The Bill has been described as the most significant overhaul of UK employment law since 1971, touching almost every aspect of the UK employment relationship, covering everything from the introduction of Day 1 unfair dismissal rights to new restrictions on changing terms and conditions and giving workers a greater voice in the workplace.

Hosted by DLA Piper in London this half day event will bring clarity to delegates on what consequences the new Bill may have for them once it becomes an Act.

The Speaker:

Lee Harding - Partner, DLA Piper

Lee Harding is an employment lawyer with expertise in helping clients anticipate, navigate and respond to their most important people challenges.

Lee appreciates that employment law does not exist in a vacuum within a business and can help client contacts present those options in such a way that incorporates the likely concerns of key internal stakeholders.  Once those stakeholders are aligned on the best approach, Lee takes great care to ensure the optimal execution of the chosen solution. This includes being highly responsive, as well as thoughtful about how particular messaging will resonate and be authentic to workplace culture.

Whilst Lee’s practice is sector agnostic, he has notable experience in advising clients in the financial services sector on the nexus between employment law and regulatory issues, especially where this relates to investigations or litigation arising out of allegations of non-financial misconduct, unlawful discrimination or whistleblowing and works closely with regulatory colleagues on any connected notification and reporting obligations to the FCA and/or PRA.

Lee regularly counsels on the full spectrum of UK employment law needs, including auditing and remediating people/HR compliance issues, such as in relation to holiday pay, national minimum wage and working time issues. Lee has extensive experience of engaging with regulators in relation to these types of issues, including HMRC and the EHRC.
