Course Outline:
It is essential that local authority Housing Departments are aware of the full range of powers that are available to them in the Housing and Planning Act 2016.
The course will focus on providing an understanding of the types and weight of evidence required to prosecute, whilst analysing the legislation and the options available to an enforcement officer. It will then progress to discussing how to submit and process a recovery application for court. Then culminating in giving you the skills of how to act as an advocate in a Tribunal or County Court, by participating a mock trial.

- How to enforce and prepare the required documents and case file for 1st Tier Tribunal
- How to enforce and prepare the required documents and case file for County Court
- How to Appear as a representative of your LA at a Tribunal or County Court hearings
- Understanding advanced Advocacy Skills: from opening to closing and everything in between
- How to control a witness in cross-examination - Advocacy and Mock Trial experience
- Review the options available after Tribunal, and how best to recover debt up to £30,000 and 1 year of rent repayment
