Course Outline:
Employers have a legal obligation to take sexual harassment and sexual misconduct at work seriously, and protect their employees’ wellbeing, This course is aimed at addressing and preventing sexual misconduct within the workplace.
Content covers terms and definitions, legal frameworks, consent protocols, and myth-busting common misunderstandings and misconceptions surrounding sexual misconduct.
Learners are provided with the relevant knowledge so they can identify misconduct, respond sensitively and navigate the reporting and complaint process with diligence and confidence.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Recognise what types of behaviours constitute sexual misconduct and sexual harassment, and the difference between the two
- Examine the legal framework and legislation relating to sexual misconduct and sexual harassment
- Recognise common perpetrator tactics, the prevalence of them, and the impact and effect of sexual misconduct or harassment
- Understand how to develop and implement strategies to prevent and deal with such behaviours
- Recognise when and how reports of sexual misconduct need to be reported to the police
- Identify barriers to disclosure and understand how to support victims including making referrals, Safeguarding and managing expectations
