Course Outline:
This course teaches delegates how to write clear and well-structured statements and reports providing a clear and accurate order of events, which are watertight and insulated from attack.
This practical course will teach delegates how to turn their clinical notes into statements or reports.
Through practical exercises, delegates will review the structure of statements and reports while also gaining the ability to identify the information that needs to be included. They will learn how to distinguish between facts, inference and opinions, explore common pitfalls and mistakes made by Healthcare Professionals, and crucially - learn how to avoid them.
Delegates will review statements and reports, including style and format, and use objective assessment criteria to assess their own written evidence.

- Identify the issues to be addressed
- Distinguish between fact, inference and opinion
- Ensure any opinion is based on fact
- Use records, notes and other relevant material as the basis for statements and/or reports
- Adopt appropriate format, layout and style
