This one-day course is designed to give an in-depth overview of the data protection regime including UK GDPR.

The course examines:

• the principles of data protection
• conditions for processing special category personal data
• the rights of data subjects
• responding to subject access requests.

The course will also discuss data breaches, data protection impact assessments and the exemptions available to law enforcement agencies.

The whole day looks at these areas from a legal and a practical perspective, including the role of the Data Protection Officer, liabilty and enforcement.

The course is delivered by our subject matter expert in data protection and Freedom of Information (FOI) and is a qualified lawyer.
